Looking for book recs for and came across one about an autistic character. Written by (as far as I can tell) a non-autistic writer.

I'm happy for representation but don't really trust NT people to do it?? But then I was thinking "huh, maybe I should write a book instead" but like. I don't know how to *write* autism, it's just my life? I don't know how to fictionalize it for other people, I don't know how NT thoughts and experiences differ and what would be worth describing.

I've been thinking I want to start making zines, but it's a bit intimidating.

So I'm starting with something super easy for me - a Fall Out Boy fanzine. Not sure if I'll ever share it, but it's definitely something that I can just pour out thoughts on without feeling the need to stress and edit myself too much. A good start for practice, at least.

I told my mom my Halloween costume (werewolf Jughead, like my current avatar/icon-thing) and she's like "wow, I can't see Jughead as a werewolf. Let's see, who from Archie would be a good werewolf....Ooh, Veronica!"

"She has her own series where she's a vampire."

"Oh. Yeah, that fits."

Sometimes I forget my mom was the one who gave me my first Archie comic and we might actually share that interest. Hmm.

Finally read chapter 1 of this comic which I did not know was a webcomic because my local comic shop sells it in paper form in the zine section and that is where I found it!

It is pretty good so far.

Jughead: the Hunger vs Vampironica #4 spoilers, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina spoilers

Looking for trans voices/opinions.

The next episode we're recording for Spooky Church is on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina chapter 15: Dr Cerberus's House of Horror.

One of the three shorts in this is a pretty horrific body horror type story centered on Theo's dysphoria. I relate to it a lot and think it's good, but I'm just one voice and I'm curious how other people responded to it, especially other trans folks.

Boosts welcome.

Normalize quitting things. It could be school, work, relationships, hobbies, or pretty much anything.

Quitting is often thought of as inherently negative; nobody wants to be called a "quitter". But there are plenty of situations where not only is it reasonable, it's the *best* course of action.

You can drop out college or switch majors when you don't care about the thing you're studying. You can end a relationship when it becomes toxic. You can stop playing a game that you don't enjoy.

REMINDER THAT YOU CAN JUST KINDA PUT SHERLOCK HOLMES IN THINGS. he's public domain so you can just kinda use him wherever. i made him break up with a wizard

Today's Agenda:

Work

Watch my favorite episode of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina to prep for the next podcast recording. (Dr C's House of Horror, yeah that's how far ahead our recording is compared to my editing)

Read Pumpkinheads
