Hey there! I'm Carlos (he/him). I'm a librarian living in Argentina. I just transferred from Fosstodon, which is awesome and all, but I'm no techie and I didn't feel like I was in my element. Other than reading, I love anime, and I'm a massive fan of the Megami Tensei game series.
My favourite books are Proust's 'In Search of Lost Time' and Richepin's 'Contes de la décadence romaine.'
Siguiendo el ejemplo de @faquistan:
La idea de Bataille en "La parte maldita" es que la producción genera siempre una sección destinada necesariamente al desperdicio, ya sea en conflictos armados o en funko pops.
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as #Facebook, is in fact, Meta/Facebook, or as I've recently taken to calling it, #Meta plus Facebook. Facebook is not a platform unto itself, but rather another horrible component of a fully functioning #Metaverse made useful by massive data collection, mental health destruction and vital shameless lies comprising a full alternative reality as defined by the billionaires who destroy the real world.

the fundamental problem of political philosophy
Reich is at his profoundest ...when he refuses to accept ignorance or illusion on the part of the masses as an explanation of fascism, & demands an explanation that will take their desires into account, an explanation formulated in terms of desire: no, the masses were not innocent dupes; at a certain point, under a certain set of conditions, they wanted fascism, & it is this perversion of the desire of the masses that needs to be accounted for.”
People saying that theory is not important are basically promoting anti intellectualism on the left. Theory provides the mental framework for understanding the underlying problems of capitalism and why these problems can't be addressed without significant structural changes.
Without this understanding people open to manipulation by opportunists precluding any serious organization. Real change requires long term commitment and understanding what it is that needs to be changed and why.
@polymerwitch Kobo is cheap, linux-based and you can install alternative firmware on it. I've been using one (the same one) for some 7-8 years now.

Trying not to give up on my desire.
A friend forced JoJo's Bizarre Adventure on me and now I've finished Jojolion.
